Couples Counselling

Couples Counselling

Rebuilding connection — or finding clarity about where you stand.

Relationships can become painful long before either person stops caring. You may still love each other deeply and yet keep having the same argument, feel more like roommates than partners, struggle to trust after a betrayal, or wonder how you became so disconnected from someone who once felt so close. Couples counselling is not only for relationships in crisis. It can also be a place to slow things down, understand what keeps happening between you, and decide together what you want your relationship to become.

Couples come to therapy for many reasons. You may be caught in recurring arguments that never seem to resolve, struggling with trust after infidelity or betrayal, feeling emotionally or physically disconnected, navigating parenting stress, or questioning whether the relationship can still meet both of your needs.

In our work together, I create space for both partners to be heard without turning therapy into a courtroom. My role is not to decide who is right or wrong. It is to help you understand the patterns happening between you, what each of you is reacting to underneath the conflict, and what may need to change for the relationship to feel safer and more connected.

I draw on Gottman Method Couples Therapy and attachment-informed approaches to help couples strengthen communication, repair trust, manage conflict more effectively, and rebuild emotional and physical intimacy where possible. Sometimes the goal is reconnection. Sometimes it is repairing after something significant has happened. And sometimes couples need support gaining clarity about whether they want to remain together. Wherever you are starting from, we can approach that conversation with honesty, respect, and care.
