Anxiety & Worry

Anxiety & Worry

Learning to quiet the noise without shutting yourself down.

Anxiety can make even ordinary parts of life feel exhausting. Your mind may constantly be running through what could go wrong, replaying conversations, preparing for every possible outcome, or telling you that you should be doing more. Even when everything seems fine on the outside, it can be difficult to actually feel settled inside. Anxiety is not simply “worrying too much.” It is often your mind and nervous system trying to protect you, even when that protection has started getting in the way of the life you want to live.

Anxiety can show up in many different ways. You might experience constant worry, difficulty sleeping, physical tension, racing thoughts, irritability, panic, perfectionism, avoidance, or the persistent feeling that something is about to go wrong.

You may also find yourself overthinking decisions, seeking reassurance, replaying conversations, procrastinating because you are afraid of making the wrong choice, or avoiding situations that feel uncomfortable. Sometimes anxiety is tied to something specific. Other times, it feels like a background hum that never completely switches off.

In therapy, I work with you to understand what is driving your anxiety, not simply teach you how to push the symptoms away. Together, we can notice the thoughts, behaviours, triggers, and patterns that keep anxiety going while developing practical strategies to help you feel more grounded and in control. My goal is not to eliminate every anxious thought. Some anxiety is a normal part of being human. Instead, I want to help you reach a place where anxiety no longer gets to make so many of your decisions for you.
