Grief, Loss & Life Transitions

Grief, Loss & Life Transitions

Finding your footing when life changes.

Loss and transition can change the way you understand yourself, your relationships, and your life. You may be grieving the death of someone important, the end of a relationship, a change in health, retirement, a caregiving role, a shift in identity, or simply the version of life you thought you would have. Not every loss is visible to other people, but that does not make it any less real.

Grief does not follow a neat timeline. It can show up as sadness, anger, numbness, guilt, relief, anxiety, exhaustion, difficulty concentrating, or even moments of feeling completely normal followed by waves that seem to come out of nowhere.

I work with people navigating many kinds of loss and change, including bereavement, relationship endings, caregiving changes, retirement, career transitions, changes in health, menopause, empty-nesting, and major shifts in identity or direction. Sometimes the transition was unwanted. Sometimes it was chosen. Either way, change can bring both possibility and grief.

In therapy, I offer space to process what has changed, make room for complicated emotions, and begin understanding who you are becoming in this next chapter. The goal is not to rush you toward “moving on,” but to help you move forward in a way that honours what has mattered.
